About

Tea is not likely just a drink; it's the emotion we feel every time we seep into a cup full of aromatic smell. Chai is one of the many things that we hold dear and which reminds us of early morning conversations, family gatherings and the comfortable presence of nostalgia. Here at the Goodness Brew, we understand that feeling.

Our journey started back in 1903 in the lap of Lizahill, West Bengal. Our family dedicated themselves for generations to quality tea cultivation. We don't just offer tea; we offer a total experience of love, nourishment, and a touch of a strong relationship with soil and the local community.

Company

Born in 1903, Goodness Brew is a HOME of 20,000 workers who survey the field, source the tea leaves ethically, and blend them to nourish your body and mind. Started as a family-owned private-label tea supplier company; currently, we have more than 30 tea estates across India and produce 40 million kg of tea every year.

Since our brand owns the tea estates, we have complete control over the production procedure. From fostering the tea plants to handpicking the most succulent, tender leaf, we make sure that only healthy leaves are used in the blends.

Goodness Brew trust in the 'what you give is what you get' policy. That's why we ensure fair treatment for our farmers and continue sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact. Moreover, we focus on providing single-origin teas, meaning every tea blend can be traced back to our specific tea estate.

About the Family

37 years old, Bipradas Roy is the fifth generation of the family and an integral part of the Goodness Brew group. The story of sweat and blood started back in the 20th century when British traders were concerned about the Chinese monopoly on tea and actively looking for an alternative solution. During that time, the colonists in India found a wild trace of long tea leaves full of flavour and strength.

Long story short, after a while, the great-great-grandfather, Mr Debishankar Roy, took the chance to collaborate with the British government and started a tea supplier company. Later, encouraged by the freedom movement in India, his son, Mr. Bhabani Roy, bought a single state from the British empire and started their own company in 1933 with the help of local farmers and authorities. Goodness Brew is the witness of our freedom, sacrifice, and patriotism.

Mission & Vision Statement

We are a family owned company and run on family values. That means we have been working hard for centuries to maintain the quality of natural drying techniques and processing tea and never compromise on our beliefs and goals. Our vision is to maintain continuous growth, empower the surrounding communities, and bring goodness to our customers while producing top-quality tea with utmost care.

The farmers in our estates who have been caring for the land for generations are the most important vital source. That's why Goodness Brew has partnered with various nonprofit organizations to promote health and education. Our mission is not just to help the pluckers but also other communities, including LGBTQIA+ and specially-abled ones. Keeping that in mind, we arrange several eye checkups and health camps and organize sports tournaments to promote career opportunities for the youth.

Core Values

We give utmost importance to the values, mostly emanating from family tradition. That's why values are not just mere words written on a page for us; these are the behaviours and actions we have been taking for centuries to shape our future. Goodness Brew defines the true essence of ourselves based on the values of quality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, social responsibility, trust and respect.

Sustainability

Our relationship with tea isn't just the soil, workers, or tea leaves - it is the unique combination of Mother Nature, people, the working system, and our goodwill. That's why sustainability is not just a buzzword to us; it's the practice that we have been following since 1933. We use natural compost to nourish the soil, opt for proper eco-friendly water conservation techniques, and try to improve the local bee population to encourage pollination.

Since sustainability is also about people, we treat our workers with respect and provide them with fair wages and safe working conditions. So, when you taste the earthy smell of our tea leaves, you not only experience the smell or taste but also become a witness to a family legacy built on respect for nature and community.
